If the 2 or 3 of you that visit this blog are looking for a new book, I recommend the 1549 prayer book.  I got a copy, and have been quite pleased with it.  Much of Rite is a copy/paste from this book.

Folks, TPECUSA, as a member of the Anglican Communion anyhow, is dead.
It’s not officially ”done”, but some sources are indicating that the HoB will not only toss out the DeS communique, they will endorse a GREATER role for gays in the church.
This is pretty galling, in light of Abp. Mouneer Anis’ impassioned sermon from the weekend.  That this HoB is doing so is the final nail in the coffin.
I know I am an impatient individual; I have been saying, essentially, this, for over a year.  This has to be ”it”.  The Communion CANNOT survive such ”go it alone-ness”.  TEC is giving the world the bird.  Africa and Asia’s bluff has been called.  And the [...]

Ruth Gledhill went to Abuja Nigeria to interview Absp. Akinola. Every time I read of the man, my admiration grows!
On Islam and Christianity in Nigeria’s North:
“We began to see certain threats in the north,” says Dr Akinola. “Religious disturbances, crises, rioting, to the extent that Christians were killed and maimed and [...]

One of the Anglican / Episcopal blogs (Pontifications) that I really have enjoyed is calling it quits.  In the “farewell” post, Alvin Kimel captures one of the bullet points of my personal consternation with TEC:
I began my blog as a way to work through, both intellectually and emotionally, the crisis of conscience caused by the [...]

The Confessing Reader, a blog that I am new to, but VERY impressed with (F.W.I.W.), has put up an essay written by an AMiA priest named Kevin Donlon.
This essay reminds me of just how far I have to go, before I could with any honesty claim to be theologically “learned”.  I don’t want to give [...]

(Hat tip to Stand Firm, as usual)
Akinola – WOW.  This name must mean “candor” or “plain-spoken common sense” or something like that.  He’s  had quite the week.
1st, The Presiding Heretic tries to keep him off her turf, and not consecrate Minns a Bishop in CANA.  His reply?  That this is happening is simply your fault.
Then, [...]

Matt Kennedy at Stand Firm seems to think something like disciplining TEC is looming, even pending. Not a directive-type decree, more akin to shunning I suppose. The greatest “meance” to TEC, however, really is just the Primates. TEC’s checkbook and accounts will carry more weight, especially given +++Williams’ theological liberalism [...]

Shameful.  Sadly, a Catholic demonstrates fortitude, while an Anglican seems craven and spineless.
Anglican bishops of the Province of Central Africa have written a pastoral letter generally supportive of Zimbabwe’s megalomaniacal dictator, only days after Roman Catholic leaders called for regime change.  The Anglicans recognised that, because the country’s economy has almost completely tanked, it is [...]

This from The Anglican Continuum:
The cruelty of heresy is that it forces such choices. And, that is only the smallest of its cruelties. Its greatest cruelty is that it aids the damnation of the soul rather than the salvation of the soul. It gives sweet comfort to the unrepentant sinner, a false security that his [...]
