Bishops. Sigh.

So, I am told of a CoE Bishop who claims that if you do not buy into global warming, you are akin to that crud in Austria who kept (and raped) his daughter in his basement for something like 17 years.
Boy, this, added to that Sharia jackassery from the ABC, really makes me dislike anything [...]

Matt Kennedy of Stand Firm writes:
The Response by the House of Bishops, joined with their earlier responses and those of the Executive Council, represents an utter rejection of the Primate’s request. There is a bold commitment to permit same sex blessings. There is an avenue ripe for exploitation with regard to episcopal consents. And, as [...]

GOLD!
In Bishop Howe’s proposal above we see the desperate measures of Evangelicals and other conservatives in the Episcopal Church who want to hold their national church together, and want to prevent it from being forced out of the world wide Anglican Communion. Not that the Archbishop of Canterbury is really willing to do the things [...]

The Diocese I grew up in, the one my parents are still in, is leaving TEC (or it looks like they are).

TPECUSA – 1789 – 2007 – Requiescat in pace
Posted in Anglican, Episcopal on September 23, 2007 | 2 Comments »
Folks, TPECUSA, as a member of the Anglican Communion anyhow, is dead.
It’s not officially ”done”, but some sources are indicating that the HoB will not only toss out the DeS communique, they will endorse a GREATER role for gays in the church.
This is pretty galling, in light of Abp. Mouneer Anis’ impassioned sermon from the weekend. That this HoB is doing so is the final nail in the coffin.
I know I am an impatient individual; I have been saying, essentially, this, for over a year. This has to be ”it”. The Communion CANNOT survive such ”go it alone-ness”. TEC is giving the world the bird. Africa and Asia’s bluff has been called. And the [...]
Christendom and the death penalty

Titus One Nine has found a Reuters article examing us in the Lone Star State and our use of the death penalty. Read it. Then, consider:
As an article of faith, and in the name of ”life”, I am supposed to oppose the death penalty. Yet, I have seen time and again where released thugs commit rape and murder and other mayhem post – release. I simply have not belief that anything other than a grave will secure society from these thugs.
The life sentence? I fail to see the point, as a mandated replacement for the D.P. What’s the purpose in holding people so long that they get acclaimated to prison as “home”? I know that such people do not lose their desire to be “out”, but do they [...]
